In an exciting development for both the Indian tech landscape and global AI infrastructure, the Hyderabad-based AM Group (AMG) has officially announced plans to establish a state-of-the-art 1GW high-performance AI infrastructure hub in Greater Noida. Backed by founders of the renowned Greenko Group, this ambitious project comes with a staggering investment of $25 billion. At the recent World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, AMG signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Invest UP from the Uttar Pradesh government, setting the stage for this transformative venture.

The proposed AI infrastructure hub aims to cater to escalating global demands for high-performance computing, particularly from international hyperscalers and enterprises focusing on cutting-edge AI workloads. The development will be phased, with initial capacity expected to be operational by 2028 and the full 1GW capacity targeted for completion by 2030. The facility will utilize around 500,000 advanced chipsets and will be designed to operate 24/7, harnessing renewable energy sources, including wind, solar, and pumped storage. This aligns perfectly with India’s push for sustainability while meeting the growing energy needs of AI technologies.

AMG anticipates that this project will attract significant foreign direct investment (FDI) and create thousands of high-skilled jobs, thereby fostering an ecosystem encompassing hardware manufacturing, software development, and specialized cooling technologies tailored for AI. As demand for high-performance computing surges across sectors, AMG’s hub is poised to become a cornerstone for India’s sovereign AI initiatives, supporting local enterprises and frontier labs in scaling their operations efficiently with carbon-free energy solutions.

Short Summary

The AM Group’s groundbreaking $25 billion AI infrastructure hub in Noida not only aims for a 1GW capacity by 2030 but also promises job creation and sustainable practices. Positioned to meet the growing demands for high-performance computing, this development highlights India’s commitment to fostering an innovative and eco-friendly tech ecosystem.
